When you are in HBC, you’ll run this homebrew application which will contact a server with the latest Homebrew information. You’ll be presented with the date, version, image and short description of the homebrew application.

You can choose to install an application by clicking on it and then selecting Yes to Install. You’ll see a little SD card icon when you have the latest version of the application installed and a clock icon when your version is outdated.
